According to the Governor, this will help to ensure that individuals take immediate action to prevent any disaster from occurring.

Fintiri praised UNDP's crisis management efforts in the Northeast, which have helped to restore and promote peace and tranquillity in the region.

He expressed his gratitude for the state government's efforts in reducing the number of crises in 2019 compared to the year before the current administration took office.

He emphasized that Adamawa is a peaceful state, and that his administration is committed to maintaining that status by investing in infrastructure and human capital development in order to prevent rural-urban migration.

Edward Kallon, the UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Representative, said earlier in his remarks that the visit was to say the Governor farewell before he moved to Zimbabwe.

Peace and sustainable progress, according to Kallon, are the only solutions to crises, and he praised Governor Fintiri for always supporting the UNDP in this area.
