Student Union Government MAU Yola Paid a Courtesy Visit To Adamawa State House Of Assembly 

The representatives of the SUG and SRA paid a courtesy visit to the House of Assembly today, 14th December, 2021.

The meeting which started at noon after their Sitting was chaired by the Honorable Speaker, ADHA, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas alongside some Members of the House.

The President, MAU was given room to state the aim of the visit. The President gave thanks and raised out issues regarding the construction of new hostels, repair and construction of the highway bumps, and additional security within and without the campus.

The Speaker, MAU then enlightened the Speaker, ADHA and expantiated the needs for speedy support. He also pleaded for the procurement of a vehicle for the Union.

The President then presented a framework for the construction of the proposed hostel showing that massive incomes will be gotten from this.

The Speaker, ADHA started by welcoming all to the House, commending the Union for bringing to his notice all these issues. 

He then said he'll present the proposal to the 25 members of the House. Adding that he'll prefer that the bumps be attended to before the hostel since its a matter of life and death. He also suggested that some corporate organization, wealthy people are available and he'll assist to make contact with them.

He'll also added that he'll discuss with the Governor, VC and Members of various Constituencies to also add shoulders to the road.

For the mobility, the members will be consulted to see what they can all do to assist.

The Speaker, ADHA then called on all Executives to create harmony and promote peace within the School Society. To also avoid rumors and hearsays and enhance transparency.

He also added that the House is assenting a bill to the government for free education to continue in the State.

Adding to what he said, Rt Hon Kabiru Mijinyawa talked more about the road issue. He also advised on major ways to source for the construction of the proposed hostel.

He then said there are plans for youth employment saying all constituencies are taking youths seriously. 

The Minister for Youths and Women Affairs, Hon Catherine; The Vice President, Fahad Terrang also gave their views.
