Some few days ago, a boy took his mother credit card and withdrew her 65k salary and took to Bet9ja shop before the mother found out the only money with him was 11k😪😪

Another boy, his aunt sent him 100k to buy something for her at the town he was leaving; that she will come the next three days to get it. He decided to multiply the money, he took it to BETKings shop and it cut. The day his aunt was coming that same he was traveling to where the aunt was staying.

The thing that baffles me about betting is that people think is their only source of income. When I was serving in Awka, Anambra State, my place of primary assignment was close to a bet shop. One particular man between the age of 40-45 usually dress up early and go to sit in that bet shop, he does not go to any work; the betting shop was his office. He was always there with the hope of winning millions. I went to a bank one day to make transaction, and saw a chashier operating a betting

app instead of him to be doing his work, betting make people to think they can multiple the little among in their hand. Which is not usually true, you end up losing the little in your hand.

Teenagers that supposed to work on their talents and hobbies are now the ones that fill up every betting shop with the hope of getting rich quick. They no longer concentrate in schools, every day they stake 100 – 500 naira with the hope of winning 6000 – 100000, that’s how they kept wasting money every day. One of my teenage friends took his school fees and his cousin

school fees to bet a game of 2 odd and that was how he lost the money and has to be repeated in school because of greed and carelessness. I visited the university I graduated from and I saw how students thronged into bet shops including those that have lectures.

Some persons have made it with gambling but they are rare and most of them went back broke after some time. A guy I know was winning millions

every week and was enjoying himself, he started staking 100,000 and above because he was winning big and things were working for him. Then, he starts making mistakes by collecting money from people to stake game for them with the aim of sharing the profit. For the first three week he was

successful, then, suddenly there was a change—one game started spoiling the tickets and he lost all the money including the ones he collected from people. He was taken to police station; at the end he sold everything and ran away, I have not seen him till now. Sport betting is making the youth

lazy and uncreative.
