ADAMAWA GOV'T KICKS OFF SENSITIZATION TOUR ON PEACE, SECURITY 


Adamawa State Government Wednesday kicked off sensitization tour in Ganye chiefdom to educate the people of Toungo, Ganye, Jada and Moyobelwa local government areas on how to promote peace and security.


The programme is aimed at engaging key stakeholders across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa to consolidate the prevailing peace and unity being enjoyed in the state under the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration. 



Addressing local government council chairmen and councilors, special adviser to the Governor on local government affairs, Hon. Musa Mahmud urged them to championing peace in their respective areas.


Mahmud called on the grassroot leaders to be pro-active and true representative of their people by executing people's oriented projects and stimulate mutual coexistence among in the society.


The Adviser who doubles as the leader of the delegation admonished them to promote good governance and consolidate on the achievements of Governor Umaru Fintiri.


Musa Mahmud extendeded the profound gratitude of Governor Fintiri to the LG Chairmen and ward councillors as true mobilizers and bedrock of the government at the grassroot levels.


He noted that the state government is working round the clock with local government councils on security and called for support of community and religious leaders in that regard.


Highlighting the achievements of Governor Fintiri led administration, Orlando noted that all hands must be deck to ensure Fintiri's return for second term in office to continue with good works he already started. 


In their separate remarks, the four local government council chairmen of Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo expressed delight and thanked Governor Fintiri advising that more of such contact should be organized.


On their part, the four leaders of the legislative councils who could not hide their joy assured the delegation their unflinching commitment to maintain peace and provide good governance in their respective areas.


After the workshop, the Adviser met LG council Chairmen, 42 ward councilors, religious leaders and stakeholders behind close doors to broker peace and chart a new way forward for the development of the state.


Earlier, the delegation paid a homage on the palace of Ganwari Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Adamu Sanda to intimate him on its mission in Ganye chiefdom and seek for his royal blessings.


The traditional ruler saluted the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri led administration for its developmental projects in the Chiefdom, assured the traditional council support to stem the tide of security in the area.
