𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐋𝐚𝐛 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐥𝐚
On Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri inspected the ongoing construction work on the maternity and public health laboratory projects at the German Hospital in Yola, Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work and stated that the maternity complex project was inherited from the previous administration of Governor Murtala Hammanyaro Nyako, but his administration has decided to mobilize contractors back to the site to complete the project for the benefit of society.
The Governor expressed confidence that when the projects are completed, they will provide health services and reduce maternal and infant mortality among women and children in Adamawa State.
Fintiri added that "Healthcare is one area that I give my utmost priority, and it is showing, evidence is there, that all communities will have better primary healthcare, secondary or specialized health facilities."
Fintiri stated that his administration will continue to do everything possible to ensure that all communities have access to high-quality healthcare services.
The Governor also stated that his administration has approved the recruitment of consultants to staff all departments at the hospital in order to improve healthcare services.
The Administrator of German Hospital, Yola, Hajiya Fadimatu Yakubu, who took the Governor around the two project sites, revealed that work will be completed within the next 6 months.
Mrs. Yakubu praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for ensuring the release of medical containers that had been trapped in Lagos for over 7 years following procurement by the previous administration.
The maternity complex was 90% complete at the time of the visit, while the public health laboratory complex was above the lintel level.
