Adamawa Student Emerges Second Best At 2022 National JETS Competition

Elkana Enock of Mundra High School, Mubi in Adamawa State has emerged as the Second Best in Biology at the 2022 National Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) competition held at Keffi, Nasarawa State.

The JETS State Coordinator, Mr Nuhu Musa of Ministry of Education, disclosed this when he led the victorious team to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the Government House, Yola Wednesday.

He revealed that the Adamawa team has also emerged second and third position respectively in other categories adding that the participating students were selected from public and private schools.

Musa further said the State has earlier emerged the overall best in the zonal competition that held in Bauchi before proceeding to Keffi, Nassarawa State for the national competition.

He said the feat was achieved because of the giant strides of Governor Umaru Fintiri in the education sector asking him to maintain the momentum for the good of the state.

The State Coordinator also saluted Governor Fintiri who he said upon assumption into office has been supporting JETS and ensured Adamawa students participate in all the competitions.

“It’s all about Innovation, Technology and Scientist, like some of these programmes is to recycle waste into meaningful things and because of your the effort, our students can do all these,” he said.

Responding, Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the students and their tutors for their outstanding performance and making the State proud and urged them to maintain the spirit.

He encouraged the students to be more versatile, dynamic, problem solvers and critical thinkers while maximising the available career opportunities open to them at all times.

The Governor assured that his administration will not relent in its free education Programme among others until the children of the poor also get functional and quality education.

He enthused that the State Government has continued to create an enabling environment for learning, thereby creating opportunities for them to develop their intellectual capacity.

The National JETS competition is an annual competition aimed at popularising the teaching and learning of Science and Technology in Schools as well as exposing young, talented, intelligent scientists and technologists to the world beyond their locality.
