“It should be free” – Reactions as chef Hilda Baci charges N25K for meet and greet in Abuja

Chef Hilda Baci has become a hot topic of conversation online as she announces a fee of N25,000 for her meet-and-greet sessions in Abuja.

It can be recalled that Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old from Akwa Ibom state, made headlines for breaking a Guinness World Record by completing a non-stop cooking marathon of 100 hours and 40 minutes as an individual.

Although her remarkable achievement is yet to be officially confirmed by Guinness World Records, a graphic circulating online reveals that Hilda Baci will be charging N25,000 for people to watch her cook in Abuja.

The event, titled "An Evening with Hilda Baci," will feature meet and greet, live cooking, food tasting, a question and answer session, and an after-party. It is scheduled to take place in Abuja on June 24th, 2023, at 3 PM.

Here are some reactions to the news:

@DanielRegha: Hilda Baci is nothing without Nigerians. If the masses didn't support and get her trending, many celebs wouldn't show up to fake hype her Cookathon. It's a sad but honest truth. Her meet and greet should be free as a way to show appreciation. Charging N25,000 (if true) is ridiculous.

meerah_cul: Even the person who cooked the last supper didn't charge such an amount. Hilda, any discount? 😣🚶‍♂️😂

amina_minaah: Meet and greet, cooking, food tasting, and after-party! Don't you see those ones? Why shouldn't Hilda charge? Should she do it for free?

official.jessicageorge: Even influencers in Abuja charge a similar price range when they want to do meet and greet, especially considering the venue, food, and all. Those people aren't even celebrities like Hilda, so why shouldn't she charge? People pay even more for events here in Abuja.

mhizgoodness_: Those who recognize her worth will pay. It's not easy to break a Guinness World Record. If it were easy, others should try it.

linda_ohakosim: Once Guinness puts her name in the book, it's over for you all. People stood under the rain to support her, and now she's charging 25k. Remember when I said that even if you cooked the food beside my house, I wouldn't come out to stand under the sun and rain? Someone was attacking me then.

ennysjemima: Nobody sent anyone to cook for 100 hours, and now you want to show your talent and start billing people to watch you? You're already singing.
