Adamawa State House of Assembly Committee on Infrastructure Visits MDAs, Pledges Support

The Adamawa State House of Assembly Committee on Rural Infrastructure, Community Development, and Transport recently conducted a familiarization visit to various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) under its purview. During the visit, the committee interacted with key agencies such as the Ministry of Infrastructure and Community Development, Ministry of Transportation, Adamawa State Second Access and Mobility Project (RAMP-2), Adamawa Transport Board, and Adamawa State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA).

Committee Members:

The committee, constituted by Speaker Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, is chaired by Hon. Jingi Ahmed Belel (Maiha), with Rt. Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi (Girei) as Vice Chairman. Other members include Hon. Paul Samuel (Mubi North) and Hon. Bauna P. Myandasa (Lamurde), along with Hon. Barr. Umar Bobbo Ismaila.

Purpose of the Visit:

During the visit, the committee aimed to familiarize themselves with the MDAs' activities and responsibilities in fulfilling their constitutional mandates. This visit served as a baseline for upcoming oversight visits, helping the committee gauge performance, ensure compliance, and promote good governance to propel the state's progress.

Information Requested from MDAs:

Chairman Hon. Jingi Ahmed Belel requested the MDAs to provide written records on ongoing/completed projects in the current year, a summary of income and expenditure analysis, existing liabilities, and operational challenges faced by the agencies.

Committee's Commitment:

Hon. Paul Samuel emphasized that government is a continuous process, and the committee is dedicated to supporting the development of their constituencies. They assured timely intervention and cooperation with the MDAs to deliver dividends of democracy to the electorate.

Various MDAs, including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Community Development, Project Co-ordinator RAMP-2, Ministry of Transportation, Adamawa State Transport Board, and CSDA, shared their functions, challenges, and needs during the visit.
