Details:
UNFPA's strategic plan (2022-2025) focuses on three transformative results: ending preventable maternal deaths, eliminating unmet family planning needs, and eradicating gender-based violence and harmful practices. Through these commitments, we strive to achieve the ICPD and SDGs by 2030, especially in the Decade of Action.
As we face challenges, including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on sexual and reproductive health and rights, we seek principled and ethical staff who uphold international norms and standards courageously.
Requirements:
To be eligible for the UNFPA internship program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application:
1. Enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (e.g., master's program or higher).
2. In the final academic year of a first university degree program (e.g., bachelor's degree or equivalent).
3. Recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and ready to start the internship within one year of graduation.
4. Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program, undertaking the internship as part of the program.
Applicants with familial relationships to UNFPA staff are subject to certain eligibility restrictions.

Interns without external financial support may receive a stipend to cover living expenses. The stipend is based on the intern's agreed place of work, which can differ from the hiring office's duty station in remote arrangements. Payments are typically made in local currency at the end of each month.
