NOW THAT GOVERNOR FINTIRI HAS FORMED HIS CABINET
It is not unusual to go to the archives for a review of things said in the past. It is therefore not out of place to remind all and sundry of my initial message to His Excellency,Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri when he assumed office four years ago. My message then was about his uneviable position as the helmsman in Adamawa state.
It will be recalled that he inherited a state plagued by many anomalies and had to do all humanly possible to tackle infrastructural and social issues of that time coupled with the epidemic scourge (COVID19) . In all these ,he has done incredibly well. But even today, having done so much,he has shown no sign of relenting.
At the heat of the campaign ,he did not allow the quest to remain in office overshadow his resolve to recreate a state that had hitherto been one of the most backward states in the federation .
Now that a new cabinet has been inaugurated, the citizenry is wide awake and hopeful that greater things are underway.
The new EXCO should therefore be mindful that the confidence bestowed on them by His Excellency is not to be toyed with . His detractors are very much awake and will use any means to see that through the new appointees they create mischief.
The new appointees should bear this in mind. They should ensure that their mission, which is to assist His Excellency is adhered to and be mindful that the citizenry is watching them.
A new era has started for the governor; the past record of excellent governance will be put to test and as generally, much is expected. This brings us back to our starting point that the new positions are not to be envied.
They are not ready assignments, they are challenges that demand resourcefulness and energy.
This purposeful government is set to succeed and this team appears to have the opportunity to prove that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's detractors are wrong in their assumptions .
