WAEC releases 2023 results now

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has triumphantly unveiled the results of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). Overcoming challenges such as insecurity and cash policy hurdles, WAEC harnessed technological innovation to achieve a remarkable feat – releasing the results of more than 91% of candidates just 44 days after the conclusion of the exams.

During a press briefing on Monday, Mr. Patrick Areghan, the Head of WAEC's Nigeria Office, expounded on this achievement. He shared that out of a total of 1,613,733 candidates who undertook the examination, an impressive 84.38% (1,361,608 candidates) secured credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, irrespective of including or excluding English Language and/or Mathematics. Additionally, 79.81% (1,287,920 candidates) attained credits and above in at least five subjects, which encompassed English Language and Mathematics.

The long-awaited 2023 SSCE exam results have been formally released by WAEC. Students who participated in the examination are advised to access their results through the official examination body's website.
