Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) are set to hold a joint press conference today at 3 p.m. to announce a nationwide indefinite strike.
Previously, there had been disputes between the two labor unions, leading to the NLC conducting a two-day warning strike without the cooperation of the TUC.
However, following separate meetings within each organization, the NLC and TUC have resolved their differences and are now coming together for a joint press conference at 3 p.m. The purpose of this press conference is to declare an indefinite nationwide strike in response to the Federal Government's failure to address the suffering and other socio-economic hardships resulting from the removal of subsidies on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
This is a developing story, and further details will be provided during the press conference.
