Two individuals identified as "Shila" boys have been apprehended by the police for assaulting a woman and forcibly taking her mobile phone.


 Two teenagers named Suleiman Shuaibu, aged 15, and Abdulazeez Sani, aged 14, both residents of Jambutu in Yola North LGA, were apprehended on Monday by the Adamawa State Police Command. They stand accused of assaulting and robbing a woman of her mobile phone.


These young individuals, commonly known as "Shila" boys, conducted their nefarious act in broad daylight at the flyover near Capital School in Yola North LGA on October 9th, 2023. Armed with a knife, which was stolen from Abdulazeez's grandfather, known as Mallam Sani, they menacingly confronted the woman. They demanded her bag, threatening her with the knife and warning of potential harm.


The victim complied, revealing her bag was empty, but the boys still confiscated her mobile phone. Unbeknownst to them, a group of young men witnessed the attack and began tracking them. Shuaibu and Abdulazeez attempted to flee but were apprehended by these vigilant individuals.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, has verified the arrests and assured the public of the Command's commitment to prosecuting the suspects.
