3MTT: FG begins recruitment of Community Managers across 36 states
The Federal Government has officially commenced the recruitment process for Community Managers as part of its ongoing 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy through a statement released on Monday.
Recruitment Overview
The nationwide recruitment initiative aims to select 37 Learning Community Managers to oversee and coordinate the activities of community members across Nigeria. The #3MTT Learning Community is described as a cluster of learners with complete access to structured content and a network of peers for support.
Job Role and Responsibilities
The 3MTT Community Manager will play a pivotal role with the following responsibilities:
Community Leadership: Lead, build, and maintain 3MTT’s community of technical talent, implementing initiatives within the state, and developing scalable programs to attract diverse aspiring Nigerian Technologists.
Brand Ownership: Own and lead the brand of 3MTT in the state, animate existing community members, attract new members, and devise state-specific and regional strategies for outreach and messaging.
Strategic Planning: Develop models, metrics of success, and growth strategies for the long-term success of the 3MTT community within the state. Track metrics for measuring learner progress and selection effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management: Oversee the sourcing of volunteer facilitators, experts, venues, hubs, and other stakeholders to host meetups and events in Nigeria.
Additional Responsibilities
Community Managers will also be expected to:
- Define community building and engagement strategy for their state.
- Stimulate advocacy and oversee the production and delivery of community engagement material.
- Develop programs and materials to facilitate talent on-ramping within the state.
- Represent the initiative at conferences, organize and deliver meetups, and engage with relevant partners to generate maximum value for the 3MTT community.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant managerial experience.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Deep understanding of the Nigeria developer ecosystem (experience in community management is a plus).
- Ability to leverage technology and build scalable systems, programs, and teams without compromising quality.
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, good listening skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong professional relationship-building skills, initiative, and persistence.
