Kayrros, an environmental intelligence company, has successfully identified the world's 1,300 largest methane-polluting sites through satellite surveillance. This groundbreaking effort sheds light on urgent environmental concerns while presenting a significant opportunity for targeted action.
The satellite surveillance provided by Kayrros has pinpointed exact sources of potent methane emissions, offering a newfound ability to address the issue precisely. The investigation into these methane leaks has led Kayrros to various sources, including gas wells, pipelines, coal mines, and waste sites in countries such as Turkmenistan, India, Russia, Australia, and the United States.
