Senior Program Officer – Malaria Vaccine Project at PATH

PATH is seeking a Senior Program Officer for the Malaria Vaccine Project in Nigeria. This full-time role is based in Abuja and requires at least 5 years of experience in vaccine implementation, immunization programs, and monitoring & evaluation (MEL).

Position: Senior Program Officer – Malaria Vaccine Project

Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years in vaccines & immunization programs

Key Responsibilities

1. Vaccine Planning & Implementation

✔ Support planning, budgeting, and reporting for malaria vaccine rollout.
✔ Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (EPI, Malaria Control Program) and stakeholders.
✔ Organize trainings, meetings, and key events.
✔ Provide technical support for vaccine introduction and monitoring.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

✔ Develop monitoring and data quality assurance systems.
✔ Conduct data quality audits for malaria vaccine implementation.
✔ Support adaptive learning by facilitating reviews, after-action reports, and data-driven improvements.
✔ Provide technical assistance to sub-national EPI teams for data-driven decision-making.
✔ Travel within Nigeria as needed for program activities.

Qualifications & Experience

✔ Advanced degree in Public Health or a related field.
✔ Minimum 5 years of experience in vaccines & immunization.
✔ Experience with government institutions, WHO, UNICEF, and NGOs.
✔ Strong knowledge of national health information systems.
✔ Proficiency in data analysis & visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, R, Python, Tableau).
✔ Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
✔ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
✔ Fluency in English is required.
