About the WTO Internship Program
The WTO Internship Programme is designed for postgraduate students from WTO member states and observer countries to gain professional experience by working at the WTO Secretariat in Geneva.
There are three types of WTO internships:

WTO Internship Programme – Open to post-graduate students from WTO member and observer countries.

China LDC and Accessions Programme – Also called the China WTO Accession Internship Programme.

WTO Support Programme for Doctoral Studies – Specifically for PhD students.
Interns are assigned to different WTO divisions based on their academic background and professional interests.
Areas of Work for WTO Interns
Interns will work in one of the following areas:

✔ Trade Policy
✔ Languages
✔ Administration (Procurement, Finance, HR)
✔ Information, Communication, and External Relations

Eligibility Criteria for WTO Internship 2026
To qualify for the WTO Internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a citizen of a WTO member state or a country engaged in accession negotiations.

Must have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and at least one year of postgraduate studies.

Must be between 21 and 30 years old at the time of the internship.
WTO Internship Duration & Benefits
✔ Duration: Maximum of 6 months.
✔ Financial Support:

CHF 1,800 per month (~$2,000).

CHF 60 per day, including weekends and official holidays.
✔ Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.
